According to W.H.O - Air pollution is mixing of some substances in the ambient air in such a concentrations that a situation arises in which mean his environment are badly affected.

As per the American medical Association "Air pollution is the excessive concentration of foreign matters in the air which adversely affects the well being of individual or cause damage to property .

There numbers of thermal power station in our country ,because most of the electricity produces by burning of coal.The major pollutants are hydrocarbon,sulfor- di- oxide and other gases.

The hazardous vehicular exhausts are major source of air pollution ,next to thermal power plants.due to high population growth the numbers of automobiles are increasing day by day-it leads air pollution in a huge extent.The ever increased vehicular traffic density pose continued threat ambient air quality.The cities like Delhi,Mumbai and Kolkata are highly polluted due high use of vehicles.The chief source of emissions are -Crankcase,exhaust system and fuel tank and carburettors
