The Famous river Mahanadi is flowing through the Satkosiatiger reserve and it is the life line for Tikarpada Crocodile sanctuary and Satkosia Gorge . The Satkosia tiger reserve is spread over an area of 970 square Km . The Name Satkosia derive from Sata- Means – 7 and Kosa – means miles – it means 7 miles distances . The Satkosia is famous for Tikarpada Crocodiles , Tiger Reserve , Binikei temple and Satkosia gorge Sanctuary , for best boating places on the river Mahanadi . The Tikarpada Sanctuary is one of the best tourist destination of Angul district of Odisha . Tikarpada is located at Athmallik Sub-Division of Angul district of Odisha . The Sanctuary is 100 km  away from form the Angul town and around 200 km away from the state Capital Bhubaneswar . The Tikarpada is famous for its fresh water crocodiles and various species of Gharials . The breeding programmes of crocodile started in the year of 1971 by the forest department of Odisha and it was supported by United Nation Development program (UNDP) . The Gharials research and conservation started in March 1975 .

Satkosia Gorge Sanctuary –

The Satkosia Gorge is one of the famous gorge in angul district of Odisha . It means – it is a narrow stretch of Mahanadi river and spread over seven miles in Ahgul district of  Odisha. This area got the title of sanctuary in the year of 1976 and it covers four district of Odisha . The gorge is formed by the river Mahanadi and provides a magnificent view of nature .

Satkosia Sand resort – Badmul –

The Badmul sand resort is located in southern part of Satkosia Gorge Sanctuary . It is one of the best tourist destination in Satkosiawildlife Sanctuary . The Baghamunda nature camp is one of the most visited nature camp in Satkosia tiger reserve in Odisha in Angul district . This nature camp is located near Kumari village of Angul district . This is a calm and quite place in Angul district . Here all roads are made up of soil . There is a huge park like arrangement inside the Baghamunda nature camp .

Here you can find best accommodation in village style . There are many cottage – present here – the rent of cottage is 2000 rupee . Here tea , breakfast , lunch and dinner are provided . This camp is 25 km away from Tikarpada .

Chhotkei Nature Camp – Satkosia

There are five camp to stay in Satkosia and Chhotkei nature camp is one them . It is calm and quite place of Satkosia and there is no proper road network to reach Chhotkei nature camp . You have to hire personal vehicle to reach this place . This nature camp is located at the top of hill . those who are interested in loneliness – then they can come here . This is the oldest nature camp in Satkosia . Angul town railway station is the nearest railway station to the Chhotkei nature Camp and the nearest airport is the Bhubaneswar airport . The entry fee is only 40 rupees . Here meals are provided with room booking . There is no enough facilities provided here .

Baliput Satakosia –

One of the most visited tourist place of Satkosia near Cuttack . This is nearer to Narasinghpur . Here you can find tend room to stay near the river bank of Mahanadi .
